Rentrak billing is based on accurate and detailed information collected directly from the POS (point of sale) system in use at your store location. The POS vendors listed below all have systems approved for use with Rentrak; it is required for new accounts to have the most recent Rentrak-compatible version of the POS software.

Hardware Specifications

Apart from having a compatible POS system your computer hardware will need to meet the minimums requirements listed below: For both single station and network environments, all installations must have the most recent Rentrak–compatible version of the point–of–sale software.

SINGLE STATION ENVIRONMENT

  • 640K Conventional memory with 530K available
  • Modem — DOS Hays Compatible 56k, V-92
  • 40 MB available disk space on hard drive
  • 3.5 disk drive
Optimum Environment
  • 200Mhz Pentium/ AMD PC or faster
  • 256MB RAM
  • 640k conventional memory available
  • 10GB Hard Drive with 40MB free
  • VGA Color Monitor
  • Modem – DOS Hays compatible 56k/v–90
  • Dedicated phone line of modem without call waiting or extra services
  • Point of Sale Maintenance Agreement
  • 3.5 disk drive
  • CD-ROM 30x or Faster
  • Active Internet Connection (DSL or cable)

*A note on modems: For all Rentrak applications, modems such as WinModems and other proprietary modems designed only for Internet access may be incompatible with Rentrak systems. If in doubt, please verify your modem's compatibility with Rentrak technical support.

*Note on Windows Operating System versions: If you use Vista: Business Version Required. If you use Windows 07: Pro Version Required, installed in a 32 bit mode.
